WELCOME to o2b Fun, Inc. We are a 501-c-3 not for profit, female owned, education foundation that provides educational scholarships to eligible Florida students. Scholarships are provided by funds that are raised in our Annual Signature events: “Rooftop Suitcase Party;” “Reds, Whites & Jazzy Blues,” and ABCD Banquet with our signature “UN” Auction, which allows anyone to bid on auction packages that are posted on-line, by simply using your Smart Phone, Laptop or Computer. We provide Educational Scholarships to Florida College bound students based on need and/or merit. We also grant Educational Summer Camp Scholarships to students based on need and/or merit, to keep them scholastically engaged during summer months. Our Scholarships are awarded at the annual Student & Parent Scholarship Party which takes early June! Our goal and motto is to educate, equip and empower people on all educational levels without thought to nationality, creed, color, handicap, or belief. This is only accomplished through our 3 Signature events in which 100% of proceeds benefit YOUR Local Students!
Frona Elkes is a nationally certified American Sign Language Interpreter. She has a Masters Degree in Deaf Education with an emphasis in second language acquisition. She was an instructor at St. Petersburg College in the Interpreter Training Program and is currently working for Hillsborough County Schools. She also works with Sorenson Communications Inc. providing video relay interpreting services and was one of the original team that established the first in-patient Deaf psychiatric program in Florida. Frona was one of the original team members that established the first-in-patient psychiatric program for the Deaf in Florida.
Vivian Brinson Stowell, Board of Directors Member, is retired from the USPS after 30 years as a city carrier in St. Petersburg, FL. While there, she served on an Affirmative Action committee and worked in an industrial film about mentoring new career employees. She currently works part time in senior care giving.
Vivian has her real estate sales license (’86) and dabbles in it occasionally. She volunteers at her church (First Baptist of Indian Rocks) and at Northside Christian School, where her son graduated in 2008. She loves sports, spends time at the gym and enjoys social dancing (West Coast Swing).
Vivian lives in Pinellas County. Her son (Tyler) and daughter-in-law (Allison) live in Edison, NJ and are expecting their first child in February.
Cristina Ashley, Secretary of the Board, has a broad background in healthcare and is a certified person trainer, currently working with Physical Therapists in injury rehabilitation and loves to incorporate techniques such as circuit training, plyometric, improving flexibility, joint stability, along with proper nutrition needed for long term fitness goals. Cristina believes in aligning the mind, body and spirit to achieve over all fitness needs. Her mission is to motivate and encourage individuals towards a more positive healthy active lifestyle by raising awareness on the importance of physical fitness.
Cristina is certified with National Federation of Person Trainers and has worked for Outpatient Physical and Occupational Therapy Clinics for over 20 years. She volunteers for MS including completing in the 100 mile MS Citrus Bike Tour Fundraiser. Native to Florida with passion for the outdoors, she is a mother of two wonderful daughters and one granddaughter. Cristina attends Calvary Baptist Church.
Terri Kilgore, a native of Defiance, Ohio, has lived in the Tampa Bay area since 1982. Terri has worked for the past 32 years as a Registered Nurse (RN), with the majority of the time in the operating room. She has been employed at Morton Plant Hospital for 25 years, serving as a Clinician II and specializing in open heart surgery for over 15 years.
Terri has been a member of the American Operating Room Nurses Association (AORN) most of her career. As a Certified Nurse of the Operating Room (CNOR) since 1990, Terri enjoys the opportunity to train scrub-technicians and RNs to perform the various roles required within the operating room.
Terri has two children, Gretchen and Garrett. She attends Countryside Christian Center and Calvary Baptist Church in Clearwater, where she regularly volunteer for various activities. Terri has attended Countryside since 2005, where she was blessed to meet Brenda, who has been a consistent godly example of a true friend.
Brenda Robinson Geanakos, Executive Director and Founder of o2b Fun, Inc., has more than 20 years of progressively responsible experience in directing a variety of fundraising events, including all logistics, all sponsorship and training of volunteers. Brenda has worked with four not for profit companies from creation of events to successful profit during tough economic times, and provided growth in attendance at the events. Brenda served from 1986-1995 as Vice President of Special Events with March of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation, then onto Upper Tampa Bay Regional Chamber; and onto Clearwater Regional Chamber. Most recently for four (4) years as Director of Partner Development Assistant with All Pro Dad.
Brenda brings with her over 20 years of experience in the events, meeting and conferences sector for Fortune 500 companies and the non-profit sector. Brenda’s career spans the gamut from multi-day conferences in Washington DC, New York, Reston,VA, Florida and West Virginia to incentive trip to Hong Kong for 150 winners.
